Urban Indigenous have minimal to no access and exposure to natural environments and Kokedamas are a way of bringing natural elements into living environments.
Kokedama literally translates from the Japanese “koke” meaning moss and “dama” meaning ball. Kokedamas are a form of Japanese garden art that is centuries old and tied into the practice of bonsai and this mimicking nature is a wonderful way to bring the natural world closer to us in our daily lives.
