National Truth and Reconciliation Week (Sep 25-30) Day (Sep 30)

Saturday, September 30th, is Truth and Reconciliation Day in B.C., although many businesses and schools will take the statutory holiday on Monday, October 2nd.

This statutory holiday is a response to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Call to Action #80, calling on the federal government to establish a day to honour survivors, their families and communities.

Learning and commemorating the truth of our history from First Nations, Métis, and Inuit knowledge keepers is an important part of the path of reconciliation.
